'A Day With' Nick Zammuto
Awesome short doc about a day with the Books guy at home.   thebooksmusic: Hey All, Here’s a short documentary Matt Day made about my process and life at home and in the studio. We spent a day together last summer shooting this video, and hopefully he’ll be documenting the time leading up to the debut ‘Zammuto’ concert on Feb. 3 at Mass Moca. (more on this soon) A Day With Nick Zammuto from...

A List Apart compiles a ton of web industry folks’ opinions on what went down in 2011, including topics such as responsive design, designing for emotion, apps vs sites, and user-centered design.  A good read.

The New Progressive Movement →
Nice read on the historical context of the Occupy movement. “Historians have noted that American politics moves in long swings. We are at the end of the 30-year Reagan era, a period that has culminated in soaring income for the top 1 percent and crushing unemployment or income stagnation for much of the rest. The overarching challenge of the coming years is to restore prosperity and power...

As a Mint user, this looks like a really nice, intelligent alternative.  Mint is great, but they’ve suffered from bloat-clutter and I always feel like I’m pushing my way through a crowded bazaar when I log in and land on the home page (deals!  save money! hey!). justinbaum: I am salivating over Bank Simple… AND they are moving to Portland. Neat. It is going to be funny to watch them...

Spotify vs iTunes Initial Impressions Followup
As a quick addendum to the unsolicited opinion piece I just posted, I remembered one other thing.  Well, a few things, but all related to: Spotify’s Interface Not a huge fan of having the current-playing information in the bottom of the window.  Really reminds me of Windows start bar.  People read top-down, left-right (at least in the West, no offense to the right-to-lefters), so this...

Spotify vs iTunes Initial Impressions
Here’s an unsolicited opinion piece I’m going to sling your way.  So far, three things have stuck out to me after a day of using Spotify (and about 10 years of iTunes).   Any Song?  Really? Magically, Spotify does seem to conjure up entire albums, tracks, artist info, and you can instantly listen to them in their entirety.  iTunes has a store, that’s fairly confusing to get...
